MN 2014 - Week 4 (Rest)

Mon- Jon spent the day golfing so Gaga, Papa, Kathy, Lilly, the kids and I took the pontoon out for a swim. It was Jace's first time being in the water (other than wading in the shallows). The first time he said "cold, cold" and got out right away. Smart boy! The second time though, he swam for a long time. My tough little guy!

That night we had dinner at the resort with my parents.

Tues- was Jon's last day so we made the most of it with lake time, dinner, and S'mores at GC's.

The week with Jon went too fast, but we had lots of fun so we can't complain!  :)

MN 2014 - Week 4 (Pontoon)

Sun- since Grandpa Chip's boat was in the shop, the crew came over to the resort for a pontoon swim during Jace's nap.  I decided to brave the cold that day (mostly because I knew Rylee wouldn't swim if I didn't).  It was frickin' cold, but she and I stayed in the longest.  Just sayin'.  :)

 

 

 

As you can see, Ben wasn't enjoying the temperature very much!  :)

After swimming, we went to GC's for dinner.

MN 2014 - Week 4 (Hot dogging!)

Sat - Jon took the kids to GC's for the day so I could have some relaxation and fun. My Mom, Dad, and I took the pontoon out for a swim (though I chickened out since the water was so cold). Then I had dinner out with my Mom, Kathy and Lilly. When we came back, we went for another pontoon ride and then sat by the fire. Delightful! Thanks again, Jon!

Sun- lake time at GC's (I know Grandpa Chip didn't have his boat back yet so some of these pics are from a different day, but look at these cute kiddos...

MN 2014 - Week 4 (The Fourth)

Our fourth had an interesting start.  Rio had a rough night.  She was acting so strangely that I had to call an emergency vet around midnight.  He agreed to meet us at 7:30 the next morning before the parade.  $263 later (which I thought was quite reasonable actually), it turned out that she had scratched her corneas (again!) - both this time!  Jon made a quick run to Brainerd for her meds and she started feeling a lot better.  She had to stay inside for the rest of the trip.  Poor girl!  She has to see an optometrist in a few weeks to see what is causing all her eye issues this year.  I'll let you know what we find out.

Back to the fourth: we watched the parade at the office, spent a gloomy afternoon at GC's where the cousin's competed in a scavenger hunt (boys against girls obviously!)...

 

 

... visited with Big Grandpa Bob, and came back to the resort for dinner with the Mooers clan.  The weather was yucky so we put the kids to bed (they were exhausted from several late nights of fun anyway).  Lilly and I drove up to the hospital parking lot and watched the fireworks though.  They were beautiful.  I do love me some fireworks!

MN 2014 - Week 4 (part 1)

Wed - cousin time at Grandpa Chip's (GC's), Maddie went with Rylee to her dance and gymnastics class, dinner and a movie at GC's: How to Train Your Dragon

Thurs - cousin time at GC's, Rafferty's dinner for Aunt Laurie's bday, cake and fireworks at GC's

MN 2014 - Week 3

I'm a few weeks behind on our trip, but I have a good excuse - we've been having too much fun!  Not a bad complaint, right?  I have several posts of cute summer pics that I want to publish so I'm gonna rock through this recap...

Wed - spent the morning with Chelsie and her boys (totally fun chaos!), visit from Dave J., Rylee had dance & gymnastics

Thurs - Meg (Godmother Heather's daughter) spent the whole day with Rylee (crafts, movies, sprinkler run, etc), Jace's swimming lesson

Fri - day of outdoor fun here at the resort, Sara came for dinner and crafting (we needed help for Rylee's Frozen party), practice snowball (cotton ball) fight!

Sat - attended a memorial for Rod Forsgren, Sara came back for more crafting and her first showing of "Tangled"

Sun - visited the cousins!, another visit with the Forsgren family at their cabin, followed by outdoor fun at the resort

Mon - swimming with the cousins at Grandpa Chip's and then Maddie spent the afternoon at the resort with us

Tues - quick visit with the cousins, Daddy & Rio arrived!
