Cedar Crest Part 2 - Megan & Max

Tues - So we did get to see some of the Erickson clan - Heather, Meg and Max came up Tuesday, stayed over night, and spent Wednesday with us.  It wouldn't have been the same without them - even if it was just for a little while.

We spent the day at the beach...

then the boys played games in the lodge... 

while the girls did nails.

I adore these kids!

Not that we can hardly call Meg a kid now that she's a college girl.  

So proud of her!

We drove into DL for Chinese Buffet that night...

When we got back it was time for the traditional minion night swim.  These minion pjs haven't fit Max for years, but he really hulked out of them this year.  He had to make some serious alterations!

Rylee knew she would swim and wore her swimsuit.

Jace made a last minute decision and swam in his clothes.

He and Max stayed the longest in the water.  

They had tons of fun on the lily pad.

It was a long, fun day...

...somehow everyone managed to stay awake for Rhinestone (another vacation staple).

Wed - we had a lazy morning, played games at the lodge, swam in the afternoon, and then finished off our time with more games in the lodge.

We were sad to see them go that night, 

but Sara arrived about an hour after they left.  She came up to keep us company for the last couple days of our trip!

MN Week 7 - Cedar Crest 2019 Part 1

Cedar Crest 2019 was a different one for sure.  The Johnston/Erickson crew couldn't go since they had two out of town weddings and then my Dad hurt his back and even he wasn't able to attend.  So Saturday morning, we took off for our vacay minus Papa and Gypsy.  :(

On the drive there, we stopped at a western store.  Gaga bought Rylee some new cowgirl boots for her birthday (early).  She loves them and wore them all week...

Jace also got this cute new Cedar Crest hat.

The first thing the kids did was swim and try out the new dock.  Cue the jumping pics!

That night we had dinner in the lodge, played cards and pool.  

Before bed, we watched the Out of Towners - a vacation classic! 

Sun - breakfast at the cabin, swimming and sandcastles, park play...

We had slushees and played games in the lodge, but had dinner at the cabin.  (Rylee also bought some CC merch as you can see.)  Later we went back to the lodge for more games and pool.

Mon - breakfast at the lodge, Ry and Jace built sandcastles with some of the other kids at the resort, we braved the showers (lol!), had happy hour and games at the lodge, followed by dinner and movies in our cabin (Jace had never seen Dolphin Tale - he loved it!)

MN Week 6

Sun - a lazy morning with Gypsy (the kids love her!)...

Then we went for a pontoon swim on Agate with Papa...

Jace is always the first off the pontoon!

The cold float felt good on Papa's back.  :)

That night we had happy hour and played cards by candlelight due to a storm/power outtage, then we drove into CI for dinner and ate DQ in the park. 

Mon - cabin play, dance, Rylee and I visited with Grandpa Chip and Connie

Tues - park play...

...followed by the kids first DQ cone (they love trying all the new "milk" desserts). 

Jace and I played mini golf during Rylee's golf lesson and had to share the green with this slithery friend...

 Wed - another pontoon swim with Papa, Sara came for dinner and games

Thurs - Max came over for the day, Rylee had a makeup golf lesson, we all swam off the pontoon, played cards and made silly snacks...

and had dinner with Vern

Fri - the rest of us spent the day packing for Cedar Crest, while Rylee had fun golfing with Connie and Grandpa Chip

Rylee decided to hit around a water hazard, 

but still ended up hitting her ball out of the water.  Lol!

Rylee also made a long putt to 

"win the US Open at Pebble Beach."  wink, wink

MN Week 5 - The Rest

Wed - The kids were plum worn out after going strong for the past 10 days so they slept in (while I drove Jon to the airport), then had a pajama/fort day.  They spent hours inside this fan fort I rigged up on my bed (per a pinterest photo)...

It creates a little igloo inside.  They look so cozy!

Thurs - Gaga and I had errands in Brd - the most important (and lengthy) being phone upgrading day.  Rylee lucked out since it was buy one phone, get one free so she got her first cell phone!  (Jace was also exicted since that meant he inherited Rylee's old ipod.  It was a win, win!)

Fri - Gaga took Rylee garage saling, while I had a lunch and shopping day with my high school gal pals at Ruttgers (Leslie, Jessie, me and Sara) in commemoration of our 25th reunion since none of us could attend the real thing.  Love these ladies!

Sat  - Austin's grad party...  

He's my cousin Julie's son...

A "Jaceism" from the party after  I let him pick what he wanted to drink.  

Him: Mom, do you know why I picked this coke?  

Me: Why?

Him:  I need to practice drinking out of a can for when I get older.

Me: What are you going to drink when you get older?

Him: I don't know, maybe a Bud Light?

Oh boy!  :)

I made the girls pose for a cousin pic.  We probably haven't been photographed together since my wedding 20 years ago.  Lol!
