August Recap

The day after we got back to FL I had to head into work to set up my classroom so the kids spent two days with my friend, Jessica, and her boys: Oliver, Parker and Henry.  They always have fun!  She even took them to the Science Museum one of the days.

That weekend we did something I am ashamed to say we never do - we went to the beach!  For living only 20 minutes away from the ocean, this was only Jace's second trip there.  We met Ryan and Erin and their boys Miller and Mason.  We also bumped into Rylee's Kindergarten and First Grade teachers.  It was really fun.  We should go more often.  Lol!

The next week was planning week so my friend, Diane, took care of the kids for four days.  They love going to her house and playing with her three girls: Sofia, Julia, and Caroline.

They swam...

Tagged along to dance classes...

Went back to the Science Museum...

And even got to go to their homeschool PE group...

That Friday, Jon took the day off work to take the kids to their sneak a peeks and meet their teachers etc.  They also played Legos and swam in the pool.  I even got home in time to swim with them.  :)

MN Vacay - Last Day

Mon- packing, Rylee gave us a little performance of the routine she learned from Jillian this summer to Rachel Platten's "I'll Stand By You."  I've highlighted some of her tricks.  :)

Back walkover...

She's going into a bridge on her elbows...

This was a knee kartwheel (you start on your knees instead of standing)...

Swing thru kartwheel (one handed)...

With Jillian...

With her very proud brother!

Checking on her hand print from the first year she started here with Pat.  :)

After dance, we went for one last boat ride and goodbye with Grandpa Chip and Connie...

Tuesday was our flight back to FL.  The end of MN Vacay 2017 - another amazing summer in the books!

On the plane...

The first thing they did when we got home was hit the pool!

MN Vacay Week 8 - cont.

Fri - visited Grandma Sandy's bench at school..

And then we went to the Soo Line Depot Museum that my
Grandma Elsie curated (she was the President of the Historical Society for something like 25 years).

One of the mine pits was the site of a pre-space flight known as Project Man High.

The kids took turns sitting in the capsule.

There used to a Skidoo snowmobile plant in town.

The kids are standing in front of my Grandma's picture and articles about her.  :)

That night, Sara came over for Rylee's pre-birthday party
(complete with colorful campfire).

The pictures don't really do it justice.

Sat - Howard & Lilly came up for a visit, I took the kids mini golfing...

Rylee got a hole in one!

Papa took us out for a pontoon swim on Serpent...

That night, Sara came for dinner and had to do a jet ski rescue!  Howard and Lil were stranded with the other pontoon on Agate.  This is just one of the many reasons my family loves Sara.  The girl is always willing to roll up her sleeves and get to work (or in this case her pant legs!).

Sun - packing, outdoor play, Max and Megan swim on Agate, Johnston/Erickson (Cedar Crest Crew) for dinner
