Jace's 4th Bday

Jace's 4th birthday was a bit of a bust.  He had been sick a few times with a stomach bug and then was throwing up the night before his party so we had to cancel it.  He ended up feeling okay that day so we had the party anyway, but just for the 4 of us plus Gaga.

It was Monster Jam themed of course!

I can't believe my little boy is 4 already!

Getting his "Ultimate Garage!"

Hours later when it was finally assembled.  Lol!

May Shows

May was Rylee's dance recital. They learned the dances three weeks prior so it was a bit interesting, but she looked beautiful!

Jace had a performance of his own in May.  I had signed him up for Glee Club (much to Jon's amusement).  They were putting on Peter Pan Jr. and Jace was a Lost Boy.

They both did a great job!

More April

April was also Jace's carnival day at his school - I always take the day off work so I can attend with him.  He really loved it this year since he's finally into rides.

Rylee also had a Girl Scout camporee where she lots of fun
and learned how to properly present and fold the flag.

And if it wouldn't have been a million degrees that day, it would have been perfect.  Lol!

Mar/Apr

March was Spring Break so my Mom and I took the kids to the park, Lion Country Safari, and the movies if I remember correctly.  Mom also babysat Jace so I could take Rylee to "Frozen on Ice." Here are a couple of pics from Lion County Safari:

April was also Easter - always a fun time for the kids!

April was also the month of the City of Sunrise Drop Savers Contest which Rylee participated in with her school.  She won 1st place in her age category!  Here she is receiving her award on the school news's program:

and on display at her school after the event.

My little artist!  :)

Jan/Feb

In my quest to catch up, here a few events from last January and February.  :)

It was cookie booth season for Girl Scouts.  I think this was the first one based on the girls' enthusiasm.  It waned after several weekends/locations!  Lol!

It was also mid-year award season at school.

My 2nd graders had awards the same day so I was able to be there.
Daddy braved the rain to come too!

Rylee also had a Valentine's Father/Daughter dance at her school.  She was very excited to go since she missed last year (when she ended up in urgent care the night of the dance).

Rylee also attended a Girl Scout event for International Day.  She and her troop were representing Israel.  Rylee even got to carry the flag during the opening ceremonies.

The only downside was she had to miss the Renaissance Fair that day.  Jace and Daddy had fun without us and Jace even got the "Sword of Valor" from the jousting show.

Recap: New Year's Eve

I had a minor hernia surgery between Christmas and New Year's so I wasn't feeling the best, but I still had a great time with the Froyds and the Malechas (who were in town visiting).  The kids spent the day playing in the pool then celebrated an early countdown.  :)

With me not feeling well, Rylee had to wait a few weeks to see the new Star Wars movie, but when she did, she loved it!  Upon returning home from the theater, she wanted a Rey costume.  I thought this was pretty impressive for a 10 minute costume!  See Mom, I'm not without skills!  Lol!

Recap: Christmas

I still have several posts from last school year that I'd like to share before the new school year starts, we'll see if I can get caught up.  Here's the condensed version.  Lol!

We had a wonderful holiday with my parents and Chip & Connie.

My mom always makes a lot of the kids gifts.
Here's Rylee in her new pajama bottoms that matched her dolls...

and trying her doll out in the beautiful bed Gaga made.

Putting a cookie (and strawberries) out for Santa...

...and carrots for the reindeer!

I loved this pic from Christmas morning.
Thank you, Santa!

Monster Jam

The first few days when we got back were working in my classroom and running errands, but then we had a fun surprise for Jace on the weekend: Monster Jam tickets!  (He became obsessed with watching Monster Jam last year.)  Rylee was even excited to go since one of the female drivers was going to be competing.

Both kids drew signs for their favorite trucks and were lucky enough to get them autographed by the drivers before the event.

Grave Digger for Jace

Scooby Doo for Rylee

Bailey Shea even picked Rylee as a fan of the day,
giving her this crown and taking a selfie with her.

Jace loves the Scooby Doo truck too (who wouldn't?!).

Rylee's autograph also says: Girls Rule!

Rylee wanted a virtual photo of her and Jace
in the Scooby Doo truck as an early birthday present. :)
