February 1st was take your child to work day. Rylee helped me in my classroom. She's such a good helper and teacher. The things she says when she's working with the kids are so spot on and perfect - it's kind of scary! She would make an incredible teacher someday - not that she should go that route. Lol!
Helping fold kite patterns with my co-teacher Alexis...
Helping me make a couple of solar ovens for the absent kids.
Jace started soccer in February.
He couldn't have been happier when he came home from his first game. His team name is Gryffindor (from Harry Potter) and he won the first medal of the season for exemplifying the character traits of listening and following directions. That's my boy!
He's really enjoying this beginner league. He's learning the basic rules, getting lots of exercise, and working on being more aggressive. Last week, he even scored two goals and blocked three as the goalie! He's also doing Sports on the Court after school on Mondays, where they learn different sports and group games. (Not sure if I mentioned that already or not. Old age. Lol!)
A blurry pic of Rylee getting her award for A/B honor roll. This year's teacher is even harder to get straight As from than last year's teacher. I'm glad though - I don't want her to feel pressured to get straight A's. She is still top of her class, she's an amazing hard worker, she loves to read and learn. That's the most important thing to me! You go girl!
Rylee's been into line dancing ever she took that after school class. A local bar has family night on Sunday nights. It's too late to go on a regular school night, but we've started going whenever we have a day off on Monday. Rylee and I have gone a couple of nights by ourselves. The night below we took Susie with us. It's so much fun! You would not believe how packed it is either!
The picture below was from when the kids stayed over night with my parents so Jon and I could go on a date night with my co-teacher, Alexis, and her husband. We had dinner on the intercoastal and then rode the double-decker water taxi around for 2 hours looking at all the beautiful waterfront homes and restaurants. I've always wanted to do that. It's only taken me 19 years. Lol!
Here are some shots of Rylee at her golf lessons. She's really enjoying the 2nd session and looking forward to bringing her clubs to MN this summer. She's hoping to get some pointers from Grandpa Chip and Connie!
Jace has been going to lots of fun birthday parties. This one was at a laser tag place. Later today we're going to a trampoline park. :)
