October Recap - Misc

Jace was Student of the Week (Project Executive) for his class.
He was just a little excited about it.

He deserved it too!  He's such a good kid.  :)

Our school had a Boo Bingo night so the kids donned their costumes...

Jedi Jace...

Lucille Ball...

We didn't win, but we still had fun!

The next day was Super Hero day at school.
Jace's new leg pose can be seen in most October photos.
I called it his version of the Captian Morgan pose. :)

October Recap - Fire Safety Winners

Oct 8 was Rio's 15th birthday!

As you can see, she was thrilled.

The 11th was Daddy's birthday and then he left for his hunting trip.  It was just the kids and me for almost two weeks.  My mom usually comes down to help, but now that Jace is in Kindergarten and heading to the same place as the rest of us, I weathered it alone.  We ate out a lot!  Lol!

While Jon was away, the kids won a fire safety poster contest.  Jace got second place in his division and Rylee got first in her division.  Jace was very excited to get his first ever medal!

The theme of the contest was "Every Second Counts - Plan Two Ways Out."

The kids were recognized (along with other winners from our school) on Good Morning Sawgrass, our school's news program.  It was Jace's first time on TV.  I'm not sure he knew what to think.  :)

October Recap - Harvest Pics

So we decided to go buy pumpkins and partake in some Fall fun on a Sunday morning in early October. It was 90 degrees by 9 am.  We lasted less than 15 minutes!  At least we took some pics.  I only used my cell phone because I have bad camera juju at this place.  Twice my good camera has stopped working when I was there and I didn't want to take any chances.  Lol!

September Recap - 2

Hurricane Irma affected our lives for a couple of weeks: hurricane preparations, shutters, and all the jazz.  The kids got to sleep downstairs with us for a few nights since it was a slow moving storm.

My new car got to sleep in the garage.  Not a small feat...

Jon had to crawl through the back seats if he needed tools and supplies.

We were without power for 3-4 days.  Jon had the worst of it.  He had to be up all night running the generator and charging the batteries to run his aquarium.  The kids and I defected the last two days (after the storm passed) and stayed at my parents condo since they had power.  He hasn't quite forgiven us!

This was at our place.  The kids were troopers even with no power and the constant trips to the laundry room (our safe room) due to the tornado warnings.

We missed 7 days of school.  The last couple of days we were able to get out and do something fun.  Like this outing to GameRoom...

...and the Lego store.

Random shot of Rio trying to get some step time with all the pets...

Vikings game at Pete and Amy's...

Gaga and Papa gave the kids hurricane cash for being so good.  Jace spent his on the Lego set (above) and Rylee spent hers on this mermaid swim outfit.

Fun Friday: Dress up day...

With Josephine...

And me...

Picture day!

Rylee decided to wear the same outfit as dress up day - it was so pretty!

Fun Friday: Jersey day

Jace's teacher sent me this.  A balance activity from "10 Apples Up On Top."

She also sent me a text the day he answered a question about cylinders.  Do you know anything else that's a cylinder?  "Bud Light!  My Dad drinks them everyday and sometimes in the pool."  We are still dying over that one.

September Recap -Rylee's bday

Rylee celebrated her last single digit birthday this year - she's 9!

Jace picked out his shirt for the special occasion.

She wanted a "donut" cake this year.

Wearing her new donut pjs from Gaga and Papa and
her new Garmin Vivofit (from Mommy and Daddy)....

Modeling her new outfit from Gaga and Papa...

Showing off her new backpack from Josephine (on her birthday at school)...

We couldn't be prouder of the beautiful, smart, kind, hard-working girl she is!

August Recap 2

After that it was back to school!
First day of Kindergarten for Jace with Mrs. Smolich.
Rylee's in 3rd grade with Ms. Mucci.
I'm still in 2nd grade, but I'm team teaching this year.

I thought this was cute.
Rylee had to make a scrapbook page for a getting to know you activity.

And this is just a random shot of my silly "Star Wars" obsessed kids.  :)
