Easter Sunday - Part 3

Since the kids were dressed up, I thought it would be fun to get some cute photos. Rylee was somewhat willing. Here she is posing with our egg tree...

...and her lamb.

Jace required jelly beans as a bribe which resulted in a cheek stuffed, lip puckered smile.  :)

Easter Sunday - Part 2

My Mom and Dad came over for brunch and the outdoor egg hunt.

Jace - perplexed as to how he's going to get the egg on the inside of the pool fence.

Rylee was actually too chicken to grab this egg that was "near a spider web."  She posed for the photo, but made Papa get the egg.

Jace really got into the egg hunting and demanded "again" each time we finished.  They kids spent the better part of the morning taking turns hiding eggs for each other.  The even hid some for Jon.  Gaga and I hid a few tricky ones for Jon's round.  The kids had to give him some clues to find them.  The one I jumped up and put on our bedroom window ledge would have been a stumper, I think!

A quick pic of Rio who had her first professional grooming experience in like 10 years.  Nothing against Groomer Jon, he's done a great job over the years, but she looks extra cute now!

Easter Sunday - Part 1

The kids were excited to find their Easter baskets and hunt for eggs on Sunday morning. The Easter bunny hid eggs in some unusual places this year...

The upside to not being able to eat chocolate is that the Easter bunny fills our kids eggs with money.  Each kid scored over $12!  Rylee already spent the majority of her money on a little stuffed animal.  Money burns a hole in her pocket as they say.  :)

Jace loved his Cars towel and had to try it out right away.

Here's Rylee with some of her favorite Easter basket items: a new outfit, a little lamb, and a firefly that projects constellations on her ceiling.

Easter Weekend - Fri & Sat

I spent a relaxing morning with the kids on Friday, before heading out for my very first mammogram. It was a breeze - not painful at all and, more importantly, my tests all came back normal. My appointment even finished early enough that I was able to meet my Mom and Rylee at the park where she was having an Easter egg hunt with some of her school friends.

Saturday was a pool day (if I remember correctly - it feels like a long time ago for some reason!) and then we, of course, dyed our Easter eggs.  Rylee and Jon are the pros.  I just try to stay out of their way.

Jace showed no interest in dying eggs (thank goodness) and was content to play on his Kindle.

This was as close as he got to the action.  :)

Rylee wanted to make sure that Jace understood about Easter egg hunts so afterwards she hid our plastic eggs in the backyard for him to "find."  I use the term find loosely since she mostly pointed out every egg to him.  :)

Jace had a great time putting eggs in the bucket, but also noted its usefulness as a hat.

"Tada!"

Weekends of Fun

We've been hopping from one activity to another these days. :)

Last weekend, we had two birthday parties: a bounce house party for one of Rylee's school friends (the boy who kissed her back on Valentine's Day!) and a Frozen party for one of her friends from my old Mommy's group (Natalia).

The Frozen party was extra cool. Anna and Elsa made an appearance and even belted out their signature songs.

A slightly blurry pic of Rylee and Elsa.

Rylee with the birthday girl (Anna) and her sister, Lily (Elsa).

This week, Rylee had two fun events at school. The first was splash day. From the pictures that my friend sent me, it was basically their teacher chasing them around with a hose. Not that it mattered, the kids loved it! (Rylee's in the front in the pink.)

The next day they had an Easter egg hunt and mini golf game. My friend sent me some pictures that day too.

Rylee and her best friend, Kenzie...

At one of the homemade mini golf stations...

I'll blog about our Easter weekend one of these days too. I actually took pictures with my real camera for once! Now all I need to do is download them.

Hope you had a wonderful Easter!

Athletics?

It's hard to know what sports your kids will excel in so we try to expose them to everything. Golf perhaps?

Not sure what they need to work on more- their swing or their golf attire?

Maybe bowling is more their speed. Wait, is bowling considered a sport?

Anywhoo, Jace enjoyed his first ever bowling experience for about six frames - not bad for a not quite two year old.

I didn't capture a good pic of it, but you can sort of see his double fisted cheer. He was pretty impressed with himself. :)

One last cute Jace story: I put on a skirt today (a rarity for me) and when I woke Jace up from his nap, he gave me the biggest "wow!" My little charmer! :)

Fashionista

Rylee was invited to a Barbie fashion birthday party today. The invitation said to come dressed to impress so Rylee picked out her hippest outfit.

Yes, those are leg warmers and heels! The 80s are back!

Here she is with the birthday girl, Shannon, in the "photo booth."

The "material girl" got her "vogue" on too.

Two cute things:

Shannon actually gave this outfit to Rylee for her 3rd birthday. It used to be a dress, now it's more of a shirt!

We gave Barbie music CDs for the take home gifts at Rylee's 4th birthday. They played the music at their party today. :)
