Jon and I watched our favorite Halloween classics last night: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown & Garfield's Halloween Adventure. This might be sacrilege to say, but we consider the latter to be the superior Halloween cartoon.
Here are some Garfieldisms for your Halloween pleasure:
Hello Halloween! What a glorious day and glorious night to go trick-or-treating for candy, candy, candy, candy, candy!
Halloween is my kind of holiday - not like those other stupid holidays. I don't get pine needles in my paws. There are no dumb bunnies, no fireworks, no relatives - just candy!
So enjoy a night of trick-or-treating and we hope you get lots of candy, candy, candy, candy, candy!
*I also love this quote, but it didn't really fit in my post.
(Dressed in their pirate wear and introducing themselves to owner John)
Argh! I be Orange Beard the pirate captain and this be me first mate, Odie the Stupid.
If you've never seen it, you have to rent it some year. :)

Another Thing I Adore
...Reese's Pieces!
Mom just gave me some to add to our Halloween candy cauldron, but since I'm suffering from a 3 bag a day habit, I'm wondering if they'll actually last through Saturday! Thankfully they're mini bags. :)
Not that the calories matter, I'm suffering from some ailment (which may or may not be linked to my thyroid - we just adjusted my meds recently) that is causing fatigue and weight loss. I also have severely dry eyes lately (weird). I'm not a webMD'er, but what do you think?... Lyme's disease, anemia, scurvy (I haven't had any oranges recently!)?
I'm heading to the doctor Monday to see if he'll run some tests. For now, I'll fight taking a nap and go pick up my daughter from *Nona's house.
*Remember when my Mom couldn't decide what she wanted to be called: Grandma, Nana, or Noni? Well, Rylee decided for her - "Nona" it is!

Things I Adore...
...Right Now
1) Rylee's personality!
2) New Moon trailers (Nov. 20th is just around the corner!)
3) Pumpkin Spice Eggnog - who knew? Yum-o!
4) That Miley Cyrus song that everyone else must be sick of by now... but that I've only heard twice... because I live under a rock... and have the shortest commute in history... and drive every where else with Rylee in the car.
5) Castle - It's awesome in general, but Monday night's episode had two Joss Whedon references. First, when Nathan Fillion (sp?) dressed as his Firefly character for Halloween. Second, when he made a Buffy reference after finding a vamp staked in the cemetery. :)

Camo Whamo
Laurie requested more photos of her bro's beard and since Rylee couldn't pass up an opportunity to wear camo, she decided to be in the shots too.
Making her mean face. She'll just scare the ducks out of the sky!
P.S. It's a good thing I already picked out her frilly Halloween costume! She's gonna need something girly to balance out all these pics. :)

Duck Commanders
Here are a couple of pics of a "bearded" Jon from his duck and pheasant hunting trip.
A little colder than he's used to...
Ummm, pheasant...
And look who's ready for the trip next year!

Movie Night
Jon and I finally have time to sit down and watch a movie tonight, but so far the Netflix we have is pretty slooow. Maybe we should quit and go for pay-per-view? TGIF!

Work in Progress
Yes, an actual table in our dining room! The wall needs to be repainted and the aquarium refinished, but I think it looks great.

Rylee's Playroom Revealed
It's not too exciting, but she seems to like it which is the most important thing.
She really loves rockin' out in her chair. I can barely get her to sit on my lap for bedtime stories anymore. :)

FL Fall
Yesterday morning I opened the sliding door to let Rio out and was blessed with cool breezy air. It felt like Fall. Aaaahh...
Then I sat down on the couch to check the football schedule and the Vikes were actually being broadcast down here. Score! A did a little end zone dance in my pjs. Rylee laughed at me.
We put our jerseys on, watched the Vikes pull out another win, and basically had a blissful Sunday. (I'm glad I got to relax at least one day out of my husband-free vacation).
Speaking of my husband, the triumphant hunter returned home last night and assured me that he liked all the house changes. Guess I get to live to see another day. Whew!

My Aching Back
Too much furniture moving!
Not enough fun.
6 rooms "redecorated"
Really hope I'm done.
If Jon doesn't kill me
Then photos to come. :)

MN Fall
Ahhh the beautiful fall leaves... and snow.
That's Minnesota for ya!
Thanks to my Dad for sending the photo. :)

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Rylee was excited to celebrate her Daddy's birthday (even if it was early and in conjunction with Rio's birthday). She even put on her pretty party dress. She looked adorable... for about five minutes. I'm sorry - I wouldn't let her eat cake in that outfit!
More importantly, she learned a valuable piece of information: ice cream cake is delicious! She used her baby sign language for "more" and "more" and "more."
Miss you and love you Daddy! Hope you had a nice birthday with the ducks (and the Bemidji boys). :)

Happy Birthday Rio!
Happy 7th Birthday Rio! You're still a "puppy dog" to us. :)
P.S. The pirate pic was taken near this pirate bar & gift shop on Ft Lauderdale Beach (it's hidden down a little alleyway near the Elbow Room). We accidentally discovered it last March when Laurie & Maddie were here so Nick had to go there too obviously. When we were there they also told us that Shirttail Charlie's turned into some kind of Pirate Bar too. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! :)

More Weekend Pics
Pirate Matey Nick

Breezy
Three's Company
To answer some of your questions about our house plans:
- The upstairs loft becomes the upstairs office (again).
- The guest room becomes Rylee's play room. I'm not repainting or changing the decor at this point just moving the toys and things in so it might not be all that exciting photowise.
- The manroom stays the manroom for now (that'll make Jon nervous). :)
- The dining room will go back to the bar room (again) until we can afford to buy a dining room table. Then it will actually be a dining room - go figure!

How To...
...Destroy 2 Houses in Under an Hour
Mom and I played "Cabin 10 to Cabin 7 to Cabin 3" tonight. We (and when I say "we" I really mean Jon and Pete) moved the bed out of our guest room to make room for Rylee's new play room (the Polich Ponderosa at the top of the stairs didn't have enough pasture for the rocking horses). Of course this move meant our office could go back to its original location so 2 desks, printers and misc. office equipment needed to be carried back upstairs.
Then we loaded up the truck... and moved to Beverly (sorry, the Beverly Hillbillies theme song sort of jumped into my head there)... and moved the bed over to my Mom's house. She bought it for me years ago so she decided to take it back. Of course this move meant we had to clear out her guest room, swap beds from her master, move a few tables around etc. I don't think the men knew what they were getting into!
Things are definitely a little disasterish at the moment, but now I have a project to keep me busy while Jon is away hunting. :)

Cousins
I'm engrossed in the Vikings/Packers Monday Night Football game so no time for thinking, writing and typing. But here are some photos:
