Happy Birthday (early)!

Gaga and Papa's birthday present for Rylee arrived early... or just in time for a girl whose rash/pox put her on house arrest all weekend.

Tada!

This is pretty much the exact swing set I had growing up. Though I can't remember what color mine was...

She can climb up the slide herself.

She's getting pretty good at thew big girl swing.

Her favorite is the glider though. I told her it was just like the carousel so that might have something to do with it. :)

Bedtime Prayers

Rylee is getting really good at memorizing things. She can recite simple nursery rhymes, sing short lullabies, and even "read" her favorite board books. Tonight I decided it was a good time to start working with her on her bedtime prayers.

I was reciting the prayer below. I would read a couple of words and then pause to let her repeat them. She was following along until we got to the last line and then... well, she decided to change the ending.

"Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the Lord my soul to keep
Guard me, Jesus, through the night
And wake me by..."

..."my Mommy," Rylee says. :)

So it wasn't "the morning light" as written, but it made sense to her!

Step Up 2T :)

America crowned their favorite dancer on SYTYCD last night and it got a (possibly chicken pox infected) girl dreaming about her chance for the title. Since we were quarantined today anyway, we set the stage for her future performance...

Doing the hippy-hippy shake:

Leaping for joy:

This move's totally "buck" (for you SYTYCD fans out there):

Victorious!

We're Back!

We've been back in FL for a few days now, but all my free time (read: Rylee's nap time) has been used to unpack or organize closets. Some people do spring cleaning, I do pre-school cleaning. Anywhoo, I haven't had the time to blog.

I hope to get my computer organized this week too: get the rest of my pictures downloaded and my recaps caught up to date. We'll see if that happens.

For now, Rylee is in bed, Jon is making pizza, and we're about to veg in front of the TV. So basically... I have to go! :)

Cool Rider

It was another first for Rylee today: she watched "Grease 2" and loved it!

Technically she only watched the music scenes, but she was enthralled. And it seems she may have a new favorite song - Michelle Pfeiffer's "Cool Rider."

We had to rewind it and watch it ten times at least. I was happy to comply. I really want her to be a fan since it is probably my favorite childhood movie. :)
