Fever

Poor Rylee has been battling a 103/104 degree fever for the past 2 days. The first day she was taking her meds well and the fever was going down to 101/102 range. Then yesterday she stopped willingly swallowing her Motrin. Forcibly getting her to swallow it didn't work either. Let's just say that the liquid ended up pretty much every conceivable place other than in her throat!

Jon made a drugstore run for me and we tried the suppository Tylenol version, but it didn't seem to do a good job of keeping the fever down at all. In the end, he made another trip back out and we tried the chewable Motrin. So easy and it really knocked her fever down. She had a brief stint at 99 degrees last night and the fever has only gone as high as 102 today.

Let's hope she's about to the turn the corner and feel better... for her sake and mine - I swear I aged about 5 years yesterday alone. :)

My week got busy so I never got a chance to post this cute pic of healthy, happy Rylee.

For you Gleeks out there, I call this her "Power of Madonna" outfit. She even looks likes she's singing. :)

Birthday Shout Out Part 1

I bought my Mom one of those recordable cards and let Rylee wish her a Happy Birthday. It worked great! But sometime between then and getting the card home, the message got goofed up and re-recorded. So here's a Rylee video shout out instead:

Sadly, that was the best take! :)

Birthday Shout Out Part 2

Making Gaga a virtual birthday cake...

...love how her attention wanes at the end. :)

Happy Birthday Gaga!

Happy Birthday to my horse-loving, gobbling*, hot dog dancing, park playing Gaga!
I miss you already. Love, Rylee

*Have I already mentioned the gobble game that my Mom and Rylee play? Essentially my Mom says "gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble" while pretending to bite/kiss Rylee's "whole face." The funny thing is Rylee makes this silly face (below) when she wants my Mom to start playing the game.

Goofy, right? I always tease that she loves this game so much she must want to live in Aitkin! (Their mascot was a turkey: the Aitkin Gobblers - in case you're not a Crosby-ite.)

Mom,
Rylee feels badly that she taped over the Happy Birthday message on your card so we're working on a video version instead. I'll try to post that later. Love you! Happy Birthday from me too! :)

Lucky Seven

Rylee's new found addiction is playing dice while sitting on the "counker." (You might notice she's also listening to Pandora on the iPhone. She loves the Disney Channel stars playlist, but Hannah/Miley still rules. Party in the USA is still her number one "ong", followed by that Hoedown line dance song from the Hannah Montana movie. Rylee calls it "boom, boom, clap.") Sorry, back to the dice game...

Giving them the lucky blow...

Shoot...

I swear I wasn't gambling for money, officer, only pretzel sticks!

Trashy

Last week was a busy one (which explains my lack of blogging). Not everything is worth recapping, but we did have lots of fun with Gaga since it was her last week in FL. There were many park visits and we even had a fun (early) b-day celebration dinner for her before she left.

I wanted to write more, but I hear Rylee starting to roll around which means she'll be up from her nap soon. So without further ado, here are some silly "white trash" photos of our little "boy." :)

(She had spilled bubble soap all over her shirt hence the look.)

A closeup of her mullet (I'm soooo ready for her top hair to start growing!).

Actually carrying white trash! :)

"Baby" Pool

Today was a beautiful day, sunny and warm, so we decided to spend it relaxing by the pool (not a hard decision obviously). Rylee played in her baby pool for about an hour in the morning and got a nice farmer's tan even though she was wearing SPF 50. (Looks like she's going to be an easy tanner like her Daddy and me.) Then she had a nice lunch, followed be a little more pool time, and then her afternoon nap.

When Rylee woke up, she got the real surprise - a "baby" inside in her baby pool: Norah! I think Norah may have been more excited to see Rylee though. That girl was all smiles as you can see...

It was nice to veg out and chat with Jess. And it was especially fun to watch Norah splash, giggle and babble. She's getting so big! Hmmm, I think that makes two perfect Saturdays for me in a row...

Ok, I had to post this silly pic too. I call it: "Stop eyeing my milk, kid."
