Week 8 (End of Summer)

Sun - annual visit with Jess, Norah and Caleb (park play and lunch at Rafferty's)

Mon - Rylee had her last dance class with Jillian

The kids decided to run through the sprinkler afterwards since Rylee is always hot and sweaty (as you can see above).  Next year I'll have to remember to take the picture before class, not after.

That night we had a campfire (and S'mores!) with the Ericksons.

Tues - I spent the morning visiting with Chelsie, then Papa, Gaga, the kids and I all went for a pontoon swim on Agate.  It was the first (and only time) we were all in the water at the same time this summer.  We went over to say goodbye to Grandpa Chip and Connie...

The kids played pool and golf...

Love...

It's always hard to say goodbye...

That night Sara came over for dinner and a visit.  We hung outside so the kids
could have fun with the sparklers the neighbors gave them.

My kids love their Sara time!

Wed - was the fair. My parents dropped me and the kids (plus Max) off at the fair while they went and got the tire fixed.  We went through all the buildings and the kids rode all the rides.

Rylee was brave and went on some scarier rides by herself.  She loved this tower drop one.

They also played in these inflatable balls twice.  You can't see in the pictures, but they were so much fun.  You can slam into each other obviously, but you can also do somersaults and other tricks.  Jace wasn't quite heavy enough so he could do some tricks, but then he would always end up stuck upside down with his feet in the air!  Luckily, Rylee and Max were happy to slam into him to flip him back over!

Gaga and Papa came and we all got lunch - hamburgers an hot dogs for the kids, oofda tacos for us and dessert - elephant ears!  Yum!

Thursday was just packing as far as I can remember and then Friday we flew home.  We were sad to leave, but we were all excited to see Daddy!

So many great memories.  Thanks to everyone for making it another fantastic MN summer!

Cedar Crest (The Rest)

After swimming, the girls convinced Dave to go on the hotdog.
But first, he needed to give Jace a lift over to the boat apparently!

Safety first!  Even if you have to wear a kid's life jacket.

Whoo hoo!

Wipeout!

Not sure if you can tell, but they got some serious air bouncing the tube.

Then they tried Dave in the middle.

Wipeout!

It's always fun to wave on the waves!

After the lake, we took some showers, and got down to the lodge for bingo.  Still no winners, but it was fun of course.  Then we ate dinner at the lodge and played games till almost closing.  We wanted to make the most of our last night.

Saturday morning was packing and driving home.  At least they were still smiling!

Cedar Crest (Thurs & Fri Part 1)

Thurs was cooler and a little rainy so we headed into DL for our ladies shopping day.  We are so sad because one of our favorite stores is going out of business.  We hit their sale for the last time.  :(
Amyway, we bummed around, did a little back to school shopping and had lunch.  Meanwhile, the boys entertained themselves and played games in the lodge.

When we got back we all had dinner at the lodge (outside on the deck).  A few of us watched a movie in my cabin and the kids watched one in the other.

On Fri, I snuck out of the cabin while my kids slept so I could have breakfast in the lodge with all the adults.  I hadn't done that all week.  I usually just stayed in bed and read.  I saved a few calories and finished two books that way.  Lol!  But it was nice to actually eat and talk with everybody.  I'll have to do that more often next year.

After feeding the kids some breakfast, we hit the beach for our last day.  It always goes by so quickly!

Beach beauties...

Max trapped Jace in a hole.

Then tormented him.  Lol!  Not really.

Max and Vern are master sand castle builders.  My kids love to help.  Tada!

Max decided Meg had helped just enough to be in the picture.  :)

It was a little windy and the water felt colder after the rain so I was worried no one was going to go in the water.

Luckily, the girls decided to take out the paddle boards again.

Dave played with the boys in the water.

Sometimes you just have to do the run and jump.

The boys had some fun on the paddle board too.

Dave likes to manhandle the kids.  They love it!

Dave can't throw the kids as far as he used to.  They're getting a little bit bigger!

Jace protecting his friend!

Time to retreat!

Uh oh!

I've got you now!

The girls wanted to be chased too!

Next up... hot dogging!
