Manic Monday

Another productive day today, but it wasn't as much fun (called doctor, called State Farm, paid the bills, finished April lesson plans, graded 3 chapters worth of math tests, filled out my report cards, did the dishes and the laundry - I think that was about it).

I did accomplish most everything I wanted to so now I have the next couple of days for fun. Yeah! Tomorrow I'm heading out for breakfast with friends. I can smell and taste it already. I love breakfast! I like breakfast for dinner also, but Jon is not a fan of that. :(

Anyway, not much to say other than all is well with my thyroid. My T3 and T4 numbers are still within range and my TSH dropped from 28 to 8 (should be in the range of 0 to 5) so that is much closer. My doctor just wanted to speak with me personally and outline our plan for the next month. I love him! I am so lucky to have him as my general practitioner. I wish he delivered - he would be a much better ob/gyn than the one I currently have!

Productive Sunday

Some days just feel longer than others. Today was one of those days (in a good way).

First, I slept in until 8:30... ahhh!

Then Jon made us breakfast burritos. (Whenever you say "breakfast burritos," you must use your funniest Taco Bell chihuahua dog accent - it's a rule.)

We ran to Home Depot to get paint samples for Jon's new man room.

When we got back, I put on my bikini and laid by the pool and read. I didn't even look too scary (very white, but not scary.)

The rain decided to visit so Jon and I got working on the room reassignment upstairs. First, I moved everything from my exercise room closet (or the orange room as we all affectionately refer to it due to its Indian colors of orange and pink) to the guest room closet.

Then Jon helped to move everything from his man room closet to the orange room closet.

Last, we emptied the furniture from the orange room so that it is ready for Jon to paint this week. He's going to go with tan and chocolate walls (bye bye orange!... only I loved you... you will be missed).

Through all this, Jon managed to smoke a delicious turkey. Add in the mashed potatoes, corn and salad - it was like Thanksgiving!

I've finished washing the dishes, cleaning the kitchen, blogging (almost anyway) and it's still only 7:45!

Better yet, there's no getting up for work tomorrow at 5:15. Yippee!!

SPRING BREAK!

It's official -Spring Break is finally here! Thank God!

I have a busy week ahead (lesson planning, grading, report cards, closet cleaning, a breakfast date, and two lunch dates), but I still plan to relax (a little!).

I'm kicking off my week of fun by attending Erin's baby shower this afternoon. I can't wait to see all the great gifts she's going to get. It will be like a product demonstration (which I could use prior to my own registering)!

Nothing else new to report other than my doctor called and left me a message to call him back about my thyroid. I'm assuming he didn't like my test results this week. And my cough is getting worse day by day (especially when I laugh), joy!

And I had a bit of a hormonal meltdown yesterday over our ice maker. It would only dispense crushed ice (regardless of the cube or crush button) and it was really teeing me off. I'm feeling much more "normal" today... I hope...

I'll stick to bottled water just in case. :)

16 weeks

This weekend marks my sixteenth week of pregnancy so I thought you all deserved a few updates.

I've gained about nine pounds (I had been holding at 8 for weeks, but the overeating I did on Easter has pushed me up some). The belly is definitely protruding. Here are some pics for those visual people out there.

We also finally made some big baby purchases. Jon and I met at Baby Luv tonight and placed our order for the crib and dresser. I love them! They are a dark espresso, very modern with silver knobs. The design is called Ocean (very fitting for Jon).

The chair is sort of ugly. Jon keeps teasing me that it is a "Grandma chair," but it is sooooo comfortable. We went with the espresso colored wood and a medium brown microfiber-ish fabric. I could only find a picture in blue so disregard the color.

Okay, I know - it doesn't look very modern, but I think I can make it work. It was the price and the comfort that sold me. In 6 to 12 weeks when everything actually arrives, I guess we'll see. :)

The rest of my ideas for the nursery are hard to explain. I am going "themeless" with modern Michael Miller fabrics in blues, greens, browns etc. When we find out the sex of the baby (hopefully on April 26th) then I'll officially finalize my fabrics. There are some really adorable prints for girls (keep your fingers crossed!).

Pickle Juice

So I really have been craving pickles during my pregnancy. I think this makes my mom happy since she craved pickles and ice cream. Can't say that I've been craving them with ice cream (sounds completely gross to me), but I have been craving ice cream separately. (Come to think of it, I always crave ice cream. Can't really blame the baby for that one.)

Anyway, I am very weird about pickles. They have to be the baby size (they're crunchier). They have to be spicy (not plain). They have to be whole (no circles or spears please!)

It's actually hard to find spicy baby dills down here and in my shopping recently, I goofed my buying up twice. First, I accidentally bought the plain kind. (I could have sworn that hot and spicy rancher was on the label but he had apparently been bucked off by the time I got home). Then, I accidentally bought the fire starter hot.

Since I didn't want two jars of pickles to go to waste, I did a little pickle juice swap (thanks for the suggestion, Mom). The plain ones are now spicy (I am munching on one of those now), but the others are still too hot for my enjoyment. Thankfully, I've tasked Jon with eating those up.

Glad I tried the swap... otherwise I would have been in a real pickle! :)

What a Difference a Day Makes

Yesterday was such a blissfully happy and relaxing day.

Today, not so much...

After another night of insomnia, I opted a frustrated glance at the clock and discovered it was minutes before my alarm rang. This annoys me to no end - I sometimes refrain from checking the clock at night just due to this possibility - so I started my day a wee bit on the crabby side. Add to that the return of my constipation, an unsightly acne outbreak, and a ridiculously aching back and neck. I am loving pregnancy, and the world in general, today. :)

So though I have requests for more details about the nursery, I think I will save them for later in the week when my mood is more favorable!

Don't check back for a day or so, tomorrow night is my book club and Wednesday is baby furniture bankruptcy night. Just kidding, I think we did a great job of finding stuff we liked that won't break the bank (plus there are rumors that both sets of grandparents will be contributing to crib and chair purchases - THANK YOU!).

Later gators!

Happy Easter!

Things I'm thankful for this Easter (yeah, I know...it sound like Thanksgiving... whatever!)

- Jon is back from the Bahamas, yeah!
- Yesterday was Wicked awesome! Hanging out with Jess was a blast and the show was amazing (even better than I remembered). Bonus: Anthony was kind enough to pick us girls up so we didn't have to get drenched in the torrential downpour.
- There's only one more week until Spring Break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I didn't have to cook for Easter. Thanks Venessa!
- MBP is brewing nicely. :)
- Jon and I have finally decided on a nursery room plan and are going to order the furniture this week.

Love to you all!
