Grandma Signe
My Grandma Signe (my Dad's mom) peacefully passed away last night surrounded by family. She has been battling Alzheimer's for several years and has not had much quality of life the past year and a half or so. It was time for us to let her go.
We take comfort in knowing that she will be reunited with my Grandpa Speed in time for Christmas.

I am sorry to hear this Shannon. Please give your Dad a hug and know you guys are in our thoughts.
Sorry for your loss, but it sounds as though her passing is a blessing after her battle with Alzheimer's.
Will your dad be cutting his visit here short in order to return home for her funeral?

My Dad is scheduled to return on Dec 27, but the family has decided to postpone the funeral until Jan 8th (since both Saturdays before that are Christmas and New Year's). Unfortunately with Jon leaving for the Bahamas on the 2nd and me returning to work on the 6th, it doesn't look like either my Mom or I will be able to attend.
