Wednesday was an interesting traveling day, but we made it! Some of the trip highlights inlcude:
- parking and going to the wrong terminal
- lugging everything through the hot sun to the correct terminal
- getting all our luggage situated and the car seat buckled in only to find that we couldn't sit in the row behind the exit with a car seat
- doing that whole process again :)
- taxi-ing (sp?*) down the runway several times due to storms and wind changes
- sitting on the tarmac (sp?*) while they were giving us a new flight plan
- finally taking off after two hours of driving, circling and holding
- arriving in MN only to be blocked from our arrival gate by EMT trucks that were servicing another plane
(* apparently I don't know how to spell airline lingo and I don't have time to look it up - sorry)
The important thing was that Rylee was great through it all. Having the extra seat was great. She napped in the car seat for over an hour and a half after we finally took off. And the times when she was awake she wasn't loud or fussy. Whew!
Since we didn't get Up North until almost midnight, Thursday was an unpacking, settling in, and getting organized day. Rylee, Miss Popular, still managed 7 drop in guests (my cousin, her soon-to-be godmother, my other cousin, 3 visiting quasi-relatives from Holland, and one of my BFFs).
Today we ran errands and went to see my Grandma Signe at her memory care facility where Rylee again was in high demand. The nurses were excited to see her in person (there are pictures of her in my Grandma's room) and to take some 4 generation photos. My Aunt and Uncle also dropped in to see her. We had a nice time visiting - my Grandma was very alert and excited to see the baby for the most part so that was nice. After our visit we even managed to sneak in a Rafferty's run (my favorite pizza parlor). I can't wait till Rylee is a little older and can be truly initiated.
Tomorrow is another cousin's wedding (I've got cousins coming out of the woodwork up here!). Rylee is my date to the ceremony (it's outdoor so I can easily sneak away if she's gets antsy) and then she's getting dropped off with her other grandparents while I hit the reception. It promises to be a great time.
I guess that catches you all up. I hope to back on blogger again in a few days and maybe with some pics from all her visiting. Have a great weekend!

Glad the flight went smoothly and you're enjoying your trip so far.
Rylee must like her new car seat. Glad the flight went well. How did Angel do?
Glad to hear you guys got up there safely. At least all the troublesome moments made for good a good story, right? Have a great time at the wedding!
